Boomerang Program

The “Boomerang” is a program advertised nationwide to top students in the energy science fields after completion of their Bachelor’s or Master degree. Relying on the centers world-wide international network of scientists, we will offer international research experiences of 3-6 months at top laboratories around the world. Successful applicants upon completion of the international research visit will then be enrolled in one of the master or PhD level study programs at the Georg-August University of Göttingen. Applicants will receive a stipend covering a monthly payment and travel costs. We envision this program to serve as a magnet to some of the best students in Germany drawing them to Göttingen to enrich the energy research landscape here.

Who can apply

Students with excellent Bachelor degree planning to conduct their master in Göttingen.

Students with excellent Master degree planning to conduct their PhD in Göttingen.

Requirements

Excellent Bachelor or Master grades.

The applicant has to confirm that she/he will enroll or is enrolled in a master or Ph.D. program in Göttingen.

The planed research stay has to be outside of Germany and should be focused on an energy related topic.

A letter or recommendation of a Göttingen professor and/or of the host professor abroad is beneficial.

Applications may be sent to icasec@uni-goettingen.de. The application should include a motivation letter and the Bachelor or Master certificate of the applicant. Furthermore, it should include a short CV. Letters of recommendation of a Göttingen professor and the host Professor may be added to the application.
