Summer School on Interfaces and Energy
The Summer School on Interfaces and Energy took place from September 4-9, 2016 in Göttingen. The school was jointly organized by the Max Planck – EPFL Center for Molecular Nanoscience and Technology, the International Center for Advanced Studies of Energy Conversion and the XLAB. The organizers were Eva-Maria Neher (XLAB, Göttingen, Germany), Rainer Beck (EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland) and Alec Wodtke (University of Göttingen, Germany). The School took place in the Freizeit In conference hotel in Göttingen.
70 participants ranging from high school students to professors took part in the event. The invited speakers gave two talks: one pedagogic talk explaining the motivation and basics of their research and one scientific talk presenting the latest results in a field of energy related science. Furthermore, the graduated participants presented their projects in two poster sessions. The high school students attended the pedagogic talks and did related experiments at the XLAB. A guided city tour and various laboratory visits completed the program.
